Kids State Update: This past weekend the DWC sent 16 wrestlers to ISWA Folkstyle State (Pee Wee-Novice) and had 7 of them place in the top 8. Winning championships were Evan Bates and Arturo “Junior” Zavala. Taking 2nd were Lucas Davison, Sergio Lemley and Kaitlin Loehmer. Alex Zavala took 4th while Noah Beller placed 8th. Also making the trip were Zack Bell, Brandon Bolin, Steven Cunningham, Jr., Sam Goin, Gavin Layman, Sammy Oliver, Danny Tolin, Aidan Torres and Mike Zajicek. Great finish to the folkstyle season guys! Thank you to Elaine Lemley, Stacie Oliver and Brian “the Baker” Bolin for your help with the party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun!

While this hotel is 25 minutes from the school it’s an easy drive, a great hotel and they’re hooking us up with access to their conference room where we’ll have a pizza party on Saturday night.

NCAA WRESTLING Tourney on TV: The NCAA wrestling championships start on Thursday with the finals taking place on Saturday night. The tournament will be televised on 3 different ESPN channels. Thursday’s matches, beginning at 11 a.m., will be broadcast on ESPN3 while Friday and the majority of Saturday’s matches will be televised on ESPNU. The championship round is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN. The Big Ten Championships are scheduled to be re-broadcast Thursday on Big Ten Network too.
